During my time volunteering with the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee at the Team USA Welcome Experience for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Paralympics, I helped support Team USA athletes as they arrived and prepared for competition. I assisted with welcoming athletes, organizing and distributing official Team USA apparel and gear, and making sure the check-in process ran smoothly behind the scenes. The experience gave me insight into the planning and operations that support athletes at the Paralympic Games, while also giving me the chance to connect with athletes and hear about their journeys to the international stage. I also had the opportunity to attend the Opening Ceremony, which allowed me to experience the scale of the Paralympic Games firsthand. Through conversations with professionals from USOPC, Nike, and NBCUniversal, I gained a deeper understanding of how the Paralympics are produced and shared with audiences around the world, including how Nike designs Team USA uniforms to accommodate prosthetics and accessibility needs.
